Can the application fee be waived?
The application fee is intended to cover various processing expenses, including administrative duties and operational tasks. Please note that this fee is non-refundable

When will I receive the admission letter?
Once you have completed all necessary application steps, including the submission of the required documents, your application will be reviewed by the AISSM team and receive the admission letter on 5/2. You can expect to receive a confirmation email from the program within 7 working days after the completion of application. If you do not receive the confirmation email, please reach out to Ms. Kacie Liu at kacieliu@gs.ncku.edu.tw to address any potential technical issues.​​

When should I reserve the accommodation?
Accommodation is not included, and participants are responsible for arranging their own housing. We recommend reserving accommodation once you receive the confirmation letter. A list of recommended off-campus housing options is provided below *Housing space and room types are limited and not guaranteed, please reserved earliest at your convenience.
* More accommodation options are available in Tainan City through various hotel websites. Participants are advised to book their accommodation early, as summer is a high season for visitors.
Academic

How many credits can I receive for the program? Can I transfer credit from NCKU to my home institution?
You will earn 3 credits for each course. If you require credit recognition, please consult your home department to review the relevant policies at your home university.

When will I receive the certificate and transcript?
Participants will receive a certificate of completion during the closing ceremony. The transcript, which includes the course title, credits, letter grade, and scores based on a 100-point scale, will be emailed to you around early September 2025.

How can I connect to the internet on campus?
We will provide Wi-Fi access in all program classrooms at NCKU, allowing participants to connect to the on-campus network.
Visa & Insurance

Do I need a Visa?
Visa requirements for participating in the summer school programs depend on your nationality and the length of your stay. Please refer to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs website to check if you qualify for Visa-Exempt Entry. If not, contact your nearest Taiwan (R.O.C) representative office for assistance with a visitor visa application (In general, it is required to apply for a visitor’s visa using the Admission Letter issued by AISSM.). Make sure your visa or visa-exempt status allows you to stay for the duration of this program.​​​​

Do I need insurance?
All visiting students from foreign countries are required to purchase and obtain medical and accident insurance covering the whole period of their participation in the program before entering Taiwan. The insurance plan should cover medical and hospital expenses for sickness or accidents during the stay in Taiwan. Visiting students will be requested to present the insurance statement copy upon their arrival at NCKU.

What is your refund policy?
The application fee is non-refundable under any circumstances. However, if NCKU AISSM cancels any courses in the 2025 program, the program fees associated with those specific courses will be fully refunded. All cancellation requests must be submitted to AISSM by the specified deadlines. To apply for a refund, please download and complete the Refund Application Form.

I decided to withdraw from the program. When will I get my refund?
Refunds are processed after the course ends and are assessed based on individual circumstances. The processing time for refunds ranges from 1.5 to 2 months following the conclusion of the course for any approved refunds.
